THE WORK

Between 2019 and 2021, I worked across more than 20 wedding films, taking projects from production and cinematography through to the final edit. These weren't traditional wedding films. They were built as documentaries. Interviews, candid moments, family dynamics and fragments of a day shaped into a story. Every wedding gave me hours of material and one chance to capture it, and the real challenge was finding the story hidden inside it.

WHAT IT TAUGHT ME

Wedding films taught me to think beyond individual shots and towards the shape of the whole film. A beautiful moment means very little if it doesn't serve the story around it. Hours of unscripted footage had to become a coherent film, with its own rhythm, humour, emotion and tension. Editing taught me to recognise the story hiding inside the material.

I learned to make a film out of what actually happened, rather than what I wished had happened. I started as an editor and eventually moved into creative production, overseeing shoots and sometimes shooting the films myself. My first wedding-film edit for the company won a Great Indian Wedding Award.
